Coaching & Positive Intelligence program.

We can take a general approach to coaching or a more structured approach using the Positive Intelligence operating framework.

A general approach draws on fundamental aspects of Life Coaching conversations to support you in your personal or professional life. This may be through challenging times or when particular decisions of transitions are presenting excessive stress or struggle. This approach provides neutral and objective support to help you find your best solutions to issues and to support your personal growth.

The Positive Intelligence (PQ) operating framework draws on the work of Shirzad Chamine outlining the approach to developing mental fitness. This is defined as the ability to self-command by intercepting the ways we self-sabotage and to shift into sage mind with greatly increased effectiveness and happiness. The PQ operating framework is delivered by an excellent app with personal support. The initial element is a 6 week intensive introduction with options to continue and maintenance of the app for 1 year at no extra charge. The ground breaking PQ approach gets quick and lasting results.

The basis of the program is generating Mental Fitness to thrive in challenging times. Mental Fitness is defined as your capacity to respond to life’s challenges with positive rather than negative mindset.

Impacts:  Peace of mind, Wellness, Healthy relationships, Improved performance.

There’s a very robust foundation of research from Stanford University in neuroscience, cognitive psychology, performance science and positive psychology. This includes results from over 500,000 participants from 50 countries worldwide, Stanford students, world class athletes, hundreds of CEO’s and senior managers.

The methodology and evidence is summarised in the New York Times best-selling book, Positive Intelligence by Shirzad Chamine, translated into 20 languages: https://www.positiveintelligence.com/resources/#book

Experience and extensive factor analysis research has resulted in radical simplification to a universally applicable model:

Only 3 core muscles are at the root of mental fitness

1.       Saboteur Interceptor

2.       Sage

3.       Self-Command

There are 10 saboteurs and 5 sage powers:

The main universal saboteur is The Judge – a negative hyper-critical mindset targeted at self, others and situations.

Then there are 9 other saboteurs that reinforce The Judge depending on our personality styles and motivations developed in early life.

You can take a quick questionnaire to determine your saboteur mix at the following website:

https://www.positiveintelligence.com/assessments/

The 10 saboteurs operate in the lower centres of the brain associated with self-preservation, defence and fear. The sage powers operate from higher centres of the brain associated with positive emotions - peace and calm, clear-headed focus, creativity, big picture happiness and well-being.

While saboteurs motivate you through negative emotions such as fear, stress, anger, guilt, shame and insecurity, sage powers motivate you through empathy, curiosity, creativity, passion and purpose. Saboteurs might generate success but not likely happiness. Sage generates your highest success and sustained happiness. Sage operates from the perspective that any situation can be turned into a gift or opportunity.

Self-command is generated by regular exercising of sage powers in short bursts throughout the day. Just as going to the gym regularly works muscles increasing physical strength so exercising mental fitness core muscles increases self-command. This occurs by strengthening neural pathways in the sage related parts of the brain (and weakening the saboteur pathways).

Initial training is 15 minutes daily for 6 weeks, watching a 1 hour video weekly at the start of the week or weekend, and a weekly zoom meeting with Andrew (and your fellow participants if applicable) in a supportive ‘pod’.

The program is all delivered by a simple to use App.

It is recommended but not essential to read the book before or during the program – PDF and audiobook are available on the App.

Feedback for Positive Intelligence Coaching:

The course clearly pulls together mindfulness, positive psychology and NLP and offers a simple yet profound framework for living a more mindful, stress free and aware life. I have meditated for decades but the framework of the course really helped me bring my meditation off the cushion and into daily life. EC, London

I found the PQ course to be hugely beneficial and to provide an invaluable insight into my life and workings.
Our group had weekly meetings and we communicated regularly on the app. Andy Field was our mentor throughout and provided calm, inspired and focused guidance and support from beginning to end. I really enjoyed and appreciated his involvement and assistance and I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone and everyone. SG, London.

PQ has really helped me with my relationships with others and with my self - understanding my needs and those of others, increased empathy and self-care have all come about. The simple act of following directions on the course for a few minutes a day over the past few months has caused profound change. I do not avoid dealing with situations that I used to really put off and I am looking after my genuine needs ahead of what I perceive others to need from me. As they say, put on your own oxygen mask first before helping others to fit theirs! Working with others who are on the same course, to be held to account, has also been very beneficial. PM, London.

"I absolutely loved my PQ course. The audio book and videos are excellent and the app is really well-designed. I particularly appreciated the bite-sized approach to the gym work which makes it really easy to keep up with the mindfulness training. Since doing this course, my anxiety has diminished immeasurably, and the concept of "finding the gift" in apparently negative situations has revolutionised the way I approach the little bumps in my day to day, so I now find myself handling stressful situations and news with much more perspective and calm."
